Project Report

Holding with the basic idea of this blog, I am going to start reporting on the various British car restoration projects we are currently working on. We have three Austin Healey’s, two TR 4′s, a Mark V, a MGB and a MGTC , with a Spitfire and two E Types. That does sound like a lot, and it is but we try to follow a system that keeps things moving.

The best one to start is the 1951 Mark V Jaguar. The owner has had this car since the late fifties, and we have been trying to restore it for the last five years. It is a huge project and it will be a very good restoration. We have completely dis-assembled every part and cleaned, repaired, and painted all the parts we could. We have been able to find many needed replacement parts, and we have been trying to get it back together for the last year and a half.

The customer has been very understanding, and we try very hard to complete our usual restoration of British cars in less than twelve months. This is just a very special car. This is the summer it will finally hit the road, and you will get to see it at the ABFM.

I am working to get a “slide show” presentation together with the pictures to date and I will post it on the website.
